Celestial Cosmetics King Slayer

*press sample
Good morning, guys and gals!!  Duochromes seem to be having a moment in the polish world this fall, from the big names of Essie and OPI to indies I Love Nail Polish and Celestial Cosmetics.  The only thing that'd make me happier is if Sally Hansen decided to bring back the Nail Prisms line (or if Turquoise Opal magically fell into my lap for less than $40, lol).

I've got another fantastically beautiful duochrome from Color4Nails/Celestial Cosmetics collaboration collection The Seven Kingdoms gracing my nails today.  Remember a couple days ago I said each polish in this all around gorgeous collection has been better than the last?  Well, it rings true again.
This is King Slayer, a shimmery, blackened midnight blue to deep violet duochrome with a faint dark blue and silvery royal purple shimmer and a slightly metallic finish.

I adore this color; it's so deep, rich, dark, and dramatic.  Like Mother Of Dragons, King Slayer is reminiscent of my beloved Nail Prisms-- the shift isn't as strong, but it comes with a definite plus.  Celestial Cosmetics has set a precedent for itself regarding formula.  I have not tried one CC polish that didn't apply impeccably.  I used two coats of polish and one of topcoat.  Wear time is nice, too-- this made it through a rough day at work with very minimal tipwear.

LOVE.  Here's an outside shot.

The Seven Kingdoms is a collection of nine polishes and I honestly feel I got to try four of the best, with King Slayer being a standout even among those four.  You need this polish in your life.

King Slayer and the rest of the Celestial Cosmetics The Seven Kingdoms collection will be available for sale internationally within the next few days at color4nails.com.
Like color4nails on facebook to stay up to date on specials and new releases.
Thank you for reading and carpe diem ♥♥♥

I have no words for how much I love this. You're right when you say each CC is more stunning then the last. This shade knocks them all outta the park IMO.

    1. I agree, and it's no small feat. There's one I don't have that *might* rival this one AND it looks to be the same shade of cyan blue that the elusive Turquoise Opal is. The duochrome isn't near as strong but it is there and it might tide me over whilst I keep after TO for less than $40, lol.

  4. Hi Liesl, I am floored, this beauty is above and beyon!!!! I am checkend the Site regularily to be able to snatch those duo chromes. While I love some strong duo chromes, I also like those just slightly softer where the color shift nearly goes unnoticed and takes you by surprise every so often xxx

    1. Funny you mention that... It's like holos. The strong ones are gorgeous, sought after, and pure fun to wear, but there's something about the subtler ones that make them downright fashionable, in my opinion. And it's almost like a skin scent, worn (almost) entirely for your own pleasure.

  5. The blue and purple duochrome in this is so pretty! I love how rich and vibrant the two shades of the shift are. :)

  7. I think you've convinced me that I DO in fact need this in my life! :D It's just so dark and shexy!! Mmm. Me likey (esp. the fact that it's a 2-coater)! And I ♥ your description of the color - what a long, scintillating sentence. ;) It made me lol a little bit. hehehee
And that 4th picture; *swoon. I just love it!! I am so glad that duo/multichromes are booming - they're also in MY top 3 finishes. ;) How awesome that you got to review some of these fabulous polishes...it's no wonder they'd want you as a blogger! Great job, Liesl! :D

    1. You're so sweeeeeeet!! I'm lucky she likes my stuff! :) Okay, I have to go reread my overlong sentence... Yeah, that about covers it, lool. I just love how it looks and after three days on and one off I'm ready to wear it some more... Ahh, the plight of the nail blogger, lol. Thank you so much for your lovely words and I hope you go but this sucker for yourself, post haste :)

    2. I'm not just being sweet, I'm being honest!! I'm gushing with honestly!! LOLOL :P I like the long sentence...sometimes they just happen. ;)
And I say if you love it that much, go put it back on!! Lookit me, I do a mani and wear it to the brink because I can't bear to just swatch! :( My blog may suffer, but at least my psyche doesn't! :P Or something like that...
Oy, I'm still pondering...I've fallen pretty hard for like, half of the Glam Polish Madness & Mayhem collection (based on Despicable Me 2). You reviewed Ba-na-na and I LOVE that one!! And then I discovered the rest of them. GULP. o_o

    5. Oh I most certainly will keep my dial here! LOL I'm lovin' me some Glams!!
I guess I wasn't so much apologizing for it as I was...uhhh...trying to clarify because they were so similar & I didn't wanna sound like an idiot. :P Maybe that can be a new "thing" - I'm gushing with honestly!! hehee
