Zoya Entice-- Fall 2014

Hi everyone!!  Entice is the classic creme finish half of Zoya's Fall 2014 collections.  You know cremes are my jam, lol, and Zoya's fall cremes are the ones I look forward to all year long.  Let's get started.

Zoya Nyssa

Nyssa is a medium camel shade, and more cognac than chocolate, which is how Zoya describes it.  It's less foody and more fashion-- I have a couple pairs of boots in this color and I love them.  Nyssa feels like an extension of the brown tones in Naturel Deux {HERE}.  Two coats, one layer of topcoat.

Claire is the ubiquitous fall classic burgundy jelly.  Some are red leaning, some purple; this one leans brown.  Two coats, one layer of topcoat.  Beware of cuticle flooding and staining.

Zoya Veronica Fall 2014 swatch and review

Veronica is a classic, warm magenta.  I always find myself rather bored with this shade but fall in love once I have it on my nails.  Two coats, one layer of topcoat.

Zoya Margo Fall 2014 swatch and review

Margo is a cool plum.  I like the slight edge of chill and drama this one has on Veronica.  Two coats, one layer of topcoat.

Zoya Ryan Fall 2014 swatch and review

Zoya Ryan
Ryan is a dark midnight blue jelly that translates darker than my photos in real life (I received a comment yesterday from a gal who had to look closer at my nails to convince herself it wasn't black).  Ryan's got some very slight cuticle staining issues but I've experienced much, much worse.  For a dark blue, this one is nearly faultless.  Two coats, one layer of topcoat.

Zoya Genevieve
Genevieve is a dark shark grey with some nearly imperceptible microshimmer, giving it a slight and very cool hint of a frost finish.  Two coats, one layer of topcoat.

I've said before that I feel Zoya's cremes are where their formula is lacking a bit.  Both Naturel collections and summer's Tickled seemed to prove that remedied but there is not one polish in this set that didn't give me a little trouble-- all are on the thin side, with the jellies, Claire and Ryan, being especially problematic.  Be careful and expect to spend a little more time than usual on cleanup.
Entice is pretty, in summation, but neither mindblowing nor original.  I mentioned Nyssa as feeling like an extension of Naturel Deux; Veronica, Claire, and Margo could easily be, as well.  This isn't a bad thing, but a little more diversity after Deux would have been welcome.  A dark blue with minimal staining and a chic grey are always welcome in my collection, though-- my top choices are Ryan and Genevieve.

The Entice collection is available on Zoya.com for $9each, $54 for the full set.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!! ♥♥

  1. I'm really liking Ryan and Claire. I know they're not super unique but I love a good dark creme!

    1. I do, too :) If Claire was a little redder I'd like it better.

  4. These aren't the wowzers that the Ignite shades are, but I do really like Veronica and Margo. How predictable. :) Claire reminds me of Pepper quite a bit.

    1. Pepper is a creme and much redder (I like it better, actually) but good call! These are nice shades, to be sure. I liked last year's better.

  5. Hi sis - great post, very helpful review!!! I actually felt the same about the extension of the Naturel 2 - as if these shades were part of the selection but didn't make it into that previous collection - I like Nyssa though quite a lot! My other picks would be Margo and Genevieve - I haven't aborted blue but it seems so not oroginal and my alltime dark blue jelly is still the one from - guess!!! Butter London - have a lovely day too!!! xxx

    1. I've been trying to figure out which Butter and I just don't recall! I think that, because I have two other vampy loves (including a Butter), they is why Claire didn't wow me (though I maintain there's too much brown in this one). As for the blue, I've had such trouble with those shades staining that I'm just happy to now have a fair well behaved one in my stash ;)

  6. Sorry to hear that the formula wasn't great but they do look great on. I love both the berry shades and that navy blue.

    1. Well, no one else seems to have found fault with them so maybe I'm just over critical. It is a very pretty collection, to be sure.
