Rainbow Favorites Day Three: Essence Wanna Be Your Sunshine

Good morning!!  It's Day 3 of Bec's Rainbow Favorites challenge, and I'm not even going to pretend I tried with this one.  A very small handful of yellows look kind of neat and exotic to me, but I've never fancied wearing them on my fingers.  So while orange was a color I was willing to work with, yellow is pretty much not.  Having none in my stash, I picked up the cheapest one I could find, Essence Wanna Be Your Sunshine.



Wanna Be Your Sunshine is a bright lemon yellow with a slight shimmer.  The formula is thick but still needed three coats to be opaque.  It's the second color I've blogged about that I haven't given a full day's wear, but I didn't intend to (I swatched on one hand only and didn't bother too much with cleanup.)
It's not that it's a terrible color.  I just need to bend my head around such a color on my own nails.  Maybe I'll revisit it in the future.  The truth is, it was already starting to grow on me, but the formula wasn't awesome, and I dented a couple nails, so off it came.  So perhaps a new quest is born. ;)

    You know what, this works on your cute little nails! I just love the shape. I think I may try to file mine down to try to get this look. I feel like the length of mine look like fingers that don't belong on the same hand. Thanks for the inspiration - my nails need help!

      Seriously? Thanks, Essie! My middle nail drives me absolutely crazy, like it doesn't match the rest. I think yours look great, but I totally get the insecurity.

      Yep, my middle nail drives me nuts too! It's wider than the rest. I can't for the life of me get it shaped to match everything else. I have thought about going to a nail salon to have them shape them and see how they do.

    That's such a pretty yellow! I really need to get myhands on some essence polish! I don't know where to get them besides ordering online and I don't really want to do that...maybe I'll make a trip to Ulta in the near future...

    I wish I had the energy to do this challenge because it looks awesome!

      It is fun, but yes, challenging to fit a post into every day for a week... but that's part of the fun, for me. Like, I'm involved in something for really reals. ;)

    I have to say it looks great on you though. Almost neon with shimmer, lovely! Too bad Essence formula varies from polish to polish :(

      Thanks, Simona! Good, that they vary, because I didn't like this formula at all, and I have a handful of other Essences I haven't tried yet.

    Wuaaa... I love this challenge, especially because it doesn't require nail art!! (Since I suck terribly at it). I wish I saw it on Sunday, i would have joined you guys!!

    And i like this polish, its so bright and summery! Makes me smile :))

      We'll just have to do another non-art challenge in the future! And I'll be on the lookout for a stellar yellow. One of my coworkers said this washed my lil fingerses out. :o

      I know!! I'm convinced there's a perfect shade of every color for everyone. I think yellow can be sort of cool and edgy.

    I love this color! Well, I just really love Essence polishes so by default, I love this one too. I like the shade of yellow and I think it looks great on your skintone.
