Maybelline Color Show Limited Edition Fall 2014 Plum As You Are

Hi all!!  Back in fall of 2012, I passed up on Maybelline's Downtown Brown so many times I lost count and lived to regret not picking up the limited edition duochrome shimmer (and at Maybelline's price point, I really had no excuse).  Not too keen on letting that happen again, I snagged one of the more interesting LE offerings for this fall, a dark grey with violet shimmer called Plum As You Are before I had time to talk myself out of it.

Maybelline Plum As You Are may initially look like another Chanel Paradoxal copy (google images {HERE}) but it's not... really.  The idea is the same, but Plum As You Are is a darker, murkier grey with a much subtler shimmer.  I admit to being surprised that the shimmer shows up as well as it does out of direct sunlight, and in such a dark base.  I was almost certain I'd be reviewing a bit of a dud once I brought this home, but Plum As You Are is a pleasant, pretty, and affordable surprise.  It covers nicely, too, applies like a dream, and is opaque in the standard two coats.  Finished with one layer of topcoat.

Here are a couple of direct sunlight shots.

Plum As You Are is part of the Rock Goddess subset of this fall's Fashion Rocks collection and is available where Maybelline products are sold for around $3.99.  It's a super affordable fall pretty and worth grabbing if you happen across one.

Thank you for reading and have a beautiful day!! ♥♥

    1. It is! I think it's a great transitional, too, because of how well the shimmers show up in the sun.

That's AWESOME!! I can't wait to hear how it went! And yes, I imagine being married to a musician makes you an instant roadie, lol ;) My DH and I will totally be each others' roadies, if our "show" ever leaves the house, lol.
