LVX D'Orsay (Inspired by Olivia Pope)

*press sample

Hi everyone!!  I've been under the weather since Sunday and have since become completely obsessed with the tv show "Scandal" and its lead character, Olivia Pope's (actress Kerry Washington), spot-on perfect light neutral wardrobe and classic and utterly tasteful style.  My own style is a little flashier and leans dark rather than light, and I love any excuse to sport a nice, classic nail, usually in a crimson or wine shade.  After watching this show in marathon sessions for three days in a row, though, I found myself eager to try on some of the light, soft shades Olivia Pope wears and that I also love but seldom use, in favor of my reds. One of the first colors that came to my mind was {LVX D'Orsay}, a pale blushed peachy pink creme.

I used three easy coats of D'Orsay and finished with one layer of topcoat (full polish and collection review {HERE}).  I just adore the crispness, subtlety, and class of this color.

D'Orsay is available for sale at {shoplvx.com}.  The Fall 2014 collection is available for presale now, as well, so please go take a look at what's in store and treat yourself.

Scandal kicked off its fourth season last night and I just started watching the third, so if you watch it and are all caught up, NO SPOILERS!!

Thank you for reading and have a beautiful day!! ♥♥

    1. The show is so good! It's a little on the soapy side but it's totally intriguing and the second season just sucks you in... It's worth watching just for the lead character's outfits alone, lol :) Google Olivia Pope and you'll see what I mean.

Awesome that you got the show on video! If you care to share, I'd love to hear :)

    1. You should :) I don't even remember what prompted me to start watching because I'm not really into buzzworty stuff until it's through being buzzed about, lol.
And thank you :) It really is a gorgeous color.

  8. Sometimes I wish I could wear super pale polishes like this, but then I remember I'm the same color so it doesn't quite work. :P It looks lovely on you. :) Oh, and 2 things: 1) Great necklace and 2) This is my favorite nail shape on you.

    1. So you're saying this could be your mannequin hands shade? ;D I'm not sure how well I pull this one off but it is just. so. Pretty! The necklace... I love it, too, and I wish I felt like I had more places to wear lariat lengths. And thank you :) I just don't think I can deal with squares any more. lol.

  9. That color looks really classy on you! Those types tend to look chalky on me, but you totally rock it. :)

    1. Thanks, sweets :) I feel like it's all in the formula and this one isn't the least bit chalky.
