LLPT's Best Nails of 2014 |
Glam Polish Coven
Glam Polish Coven |
Aussie master of glitters in a creme base company Glam Polish branched out into glassfleck-holo territory in 2013 and I got to kick off 2014 in one I called a favorite right then and there-- Coven, from the first Cast A Spell collection. Glams flit in and out of availability; check stocklists for new releases and destash sales for discontinued gems like Coven. Mine's not going anywhere. Original post {HERE}.
LVX Cameo
LVX Cameo |
LVX Cameo, from LVX's spring 2014 collection, is a timeless, chic, sexy, elegant magenta red. Is it groundbreaking? No. Is it a color I never knew I was missing in my collection until I actually had it in hand? YES. It's a lovely formula in a lovely, spare package-- if you're looking to treat yourself to a gorgeous, classic color you'll wear time and time again, Cameo is tops. Full post {HERE}.
Celestial Meteoroid
Celestial Meteoroid |
I was feeling terribly underwhelmed by most this spring's offerings and in a bit of a polish slump when I happened upon a blog post on a couple new releases from Celestial, one of my favorite indies. I was floored and excited by both-- Meteoroid, a very cool and dubiously colored bronze-sage-olive green linear holo and...
Celestial Aurora
Celestial Aurora |
... Aurora, a deep royal purple duochrome packed to the gills with emerald colored glassflecks. Further gushing and photos {HERE}.
Cult Nails Kiss
Cult Nails Kiss |
I finally joined the Cult-- Cult Nails, that is. Their Valentine's Day collection featured this sexy, satin finish little number called Kiss. Its easy to apply and quick drying, no topcoat needed formula in my MOST favorite of colors made this a polish I reached for often and will continue to. And Cult Nails' service? Second to none. Full post {HERE}.
piCture pOlish Eyre
piCture pOlish Eyre |
Another line I had the pleasure of finally being introduced to was Aussie boutique brand piCture pOlish and I fell in love with Eyre, a blue violet scattered holo, a shade totally not up my alley but one I found myself drawn to repeatedly. Full post {HERE}.
piCture pOlish Solar Flare
piCture pOlish Solar Flare |
I loved Eyre so much that I had to treat myself to one of piCture pOlish's sparkling holo multichromes-- this one's Solar Flare, a garnet to gold to green shifter. Suffice it to say I've made dents in both bottles. Full post {HERE}.
Butter London Ladybird
Butter London Ladybird |
Butter London's got a knack for reds. Ladybird was originally released as an exclusive NYFW color this past February but showed up again in Butter's summer collection, and for good reason-- it's a consummately perfect bright, nearly neon summer red. Is it July yet?? Full post {HERE}.
Sinful Colors SinfulShine Prosecco
Sinful Colors SinfulShine Prosecco |
Sinful Colors SinfulShine Prosecco... Oh, the ruckus this little number and its sudden disappearance from Walgreens shelves everywhere caused. I almost didn't care until a new friend offered to send me an extra and I'm SO glad she did because it is indeed true polish love. Full post {HERE}.
GlitterDaze Essence Of a Unicorn
GlitterDaze Essence Of a Unicorn |
It's been a big year for GlitterDaze, another favorite of mine, with a massive relaunch and nothing but home run collections to follow, including the most recent set of ultrachrome flakies. I snagged Essence Of a Unicorn during its presale and just look at how it shines over a light metallic! Layering this was not totally intuitive for me but this is a duo I'll be wearing again, when I'm not just gazing into the bottle... Full post {HERE}.
Enchanted Polish December 2014
Enchanted Polish December 2014 |
Maybe I'm just a little bit high on the fact that I managed to snag one of these... Maybe there's something inherently magical in the very word "enchanted". I couldn't not include my one and only polish from this elusive, exclusive brand in my 2014 favorites, though, and let's face it, this icy aqua glassfleck holo really is gorgeous. Full post {HERE}.
LLPT's Best Brand of 2014
Zoya 2014 |
Soooo there is a brand I feel is conspicuously absent from my leetle list, but that's because I could have at least doubled my list based on all the gorgeousness that came out of one company this year. They weren't flawless by any means but knocked it out of the park enough that Zoya is my Best Brand of 2014. Here's why.
Naturel
Zoya Naturel |
This January's transitional collection of six rosy toned neutral cremes was a surprising, pitch perfect palette cleanser. I could have lived in these. If Zoya did nothing else for the rest of the year, I would have been okay. Full post {HERE}.
Tickled
Zoya Tickled |
They created the most perfect country garden palette of cremes for summer-- gorgeous and cohesive and I couldn't give those three pink shades enough wear time. Full post {HERE}.
Naturel Deux
Zoya Naturel Deux |
Zoya reprised the Naturel concept for a transitional fall collection, both deepening and warming up the set of six. My classic loving heart could not have been happier. Full post {HERE}...
Matte Velvets
Zoya Matte Velvets |
...and then they rereleased the much loved and highly anticipated entire fall/winter limited edition Matte Velvet collection, a richly hued, multidimensional set that lived up to its hype. Full post {HERE}.
Whew! All in all, it's been a pretty rockin' year for us nailistas. Do we share any favorites?
Thank you for reading and have a most excellent day!! ♥

Awesome list. You make BL Ladybird look SO good! I don't need another red, but now I am curious about it! (And Glam Polish Coven....yum!)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about Zoya! As far as mainstream brands go, I didn't experience anything better than their releases this year. I loved Bubbly too- those polishes were really inventive!
Thanks, Cait! ♥ Ladybird is gorgeous, if it's still around you should pick it up! I really think Zoya (speaking of, lol) does a better job on their reds but Ladybird is superlative and I don't think there's a Zoya close... maybe America. I should do a comparison.
DeleteThose Celestial polishes are freaking amaze balls!!
ReplyDeleteAren't they?! I freakin' love those two ♥♥
DeleteThis post was like a walk down memory lane!!

DeleteAwesome picks! Onto the wishlist they go!
ReplyDeleteSaweet!! You're welcome ;)
DeleteSo many gorgeous picks! I always love posts like these :-). It seems I'll be getting to know Glam Polish a bit more in 2015 which is awesome, and I wish I had better access to Zoya for a better price. They're quite expensive here :-(.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Deborah ♥ Zoya should definitely consider going international... their business would surely grow exponentially!
DeleteGreat roundup of polishes! I especially love your swatches of the Naturel Collection. Zoya knocked it out of the park this year!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Kelli! And they sure did! The first set of Naturels is one of my all time favorite sets.
DeleteI just love reds on you! I don't think I can pull them off at all, but you make me want to! :)
ReplyDeleteGive them a shot, doll :) You can pull them off, trust me :)
